Dios marhay na adlaw viewers!!!What did i just say?I said good morning to you guys in Bikol or Bicol dialect. Camarines Sur was really AWESOME for its scenery and people. To be honest, I enjoyed talking, bonding and meeting random people. All of them were extremely kind, heart warming and hospitable to me. Me and my friend, Ate Sarah went to some different places like Ybalon Resort, Lake Bato, Lake Buhi and Itbog Falls. It was really a perk traveling to Bicol if you have someone bicolana or bicolano with you.

Perks of having a bicolano/bicolana native touring you around Bicol Region:

1.Shopping discount- Before going back to Manila a guy who sells Pili Tart offered me 8packs of it for 100 pesos or nearly 2USD. I think that was really a reasonable price since i did try to canvass a pack of one which costs me 30 pesos each. Good thing is Ate Sarah talked to guy and  gave me a good discount.

2.Turning strangers into friends- Indeed that Bicolanos/Bicolanas are extremely friendly. When i went to the store to buy some beer I met sir Ron who was a former student of my university. He told me that he wanna drink with someone since he was kind of bored, so I asked him if he wanna join with us drinking since i was celebrating something about some stuff. He accepted my offer and even bought a liter of beer for me. His kids were very nice which i even talked to before going back to the house of Ate Sarah and they even gave us a free ride.

3.Invitations from strangers to drink, stay and eat- After we dipped on the falls we met these guys who i asked if they can save me if i jump on the cliff. They said yes they can and took my number for some references if ever i'm gonna visit the place again. God they gave us couple of camotes(a local root crop) and offered us to cook something out of chicken meat. Unfortunately, we were not able to eat with them since there was a boat waiting for us going back to town proper. One day we will meet again and gonna have some fun.

3. Bicolanos are the most hospitable people that i met so far- Ate Sarah's family is really an A+ for hospitality, kindness and friendliness. She herself is already one, what more else if together with her family. They were so sweet and lovely to each other which I have never seen or experience in my life. I really felt that i'm one of their family members during my stay. Ate Sarah's mother  was such a sweetheart  for teaching me some bicol words, telling stories of life and many more. It was also a pleasure for me to meet their other family members before leaving. I will really go back one day to bond more with them and experience one of a kind again.

I did enjoy :)

You just finished my self-made perks and I hope you liked it.

What are the things that i have learned and experienced during my stay?

1. Value and try to be close as much as possible with your family members.

I am the kind of guy who isn't so open or close to my family. It takes days, weeks or months before i am able to ask them if they wanna hangout. Don't worry i am improving and i can tell that i'm getting closer than before. After meeting this family I learned a lot of things which i should really value and consider. They showed me how much fun you can gain together with your family. Thank you guys for the wonderful experience. I am pretty sure that i can do better now with my family.

I am actually pretty close to elders since my grandma has taken care of me a lot when i was a kid.

2. Simplicity is beauty

Not saying this because someone has captured my heart again. The whole place of Bicol is extremely simple which makes it beauty for the eyes of a traveler like me. Far from pollution, less crime or maybe zero and lovely people around.

Ate Sarah taught me how to use bare hands when eating. Yeah it might sound weird or annoying to you, but my close friends
know how i suck at it. I'm learning it so i would be able to join the famous "boodle fight" here in Philippines.

The smell of rice field is really great!Believe me.

One day i might go on a vacation and try how to be a farmer here.

.
3. Learn to smile to the new people that you will meet in different places

It might also sound weird but bicolanas/bicolanos are different. They will instantly smile to you back and wouldn't think odd as others do. It is very normal to me to smile towards the new people that i met or ask them to drink. None has declined to me so far when i did ask them to drink. It only shows how flexible and friendly Bicolanos are.

4.They have a peculiar tradition during All-Souls Day
That they have to prepare some food or offering to the souls around 12NN. It is more likely inviting the souls to your house to eat some lunch i guess.

FOODS THAT YOU WILL COMMONLY SEE IN BICOL

am not a foodie type of person  but i love trying new taste..

1. Laing- I have actually seen one before but never tried it until i came here. It was really good since i love pork meat. Thanks that it was not spicy as what i have thought at first.

2.Pancit Loglog- It tasted good but i was sorry for not finishing the food. I had like my hangover when i was eating eat it. Im gonna eat one again when i go back for sure.

3.Suman- I am actually not a suman eater but i did try them all. It taste really good though i ate few.
